About Us

Founded in 1963 by Portland culinary icon Horst Mager, der Rheinlander offered a unique experience with strolling accordion players and singing waitresses.
 
Almost 50 years later owner Suzeanne Mager, Horst’s daughter, carries the authentic old-world feel with traditionally dressed, singing staff serving scratch-made recipes and extensive German beer and wine selections.
